Inq. of the Week: Welcome to the New Digs / Hero Minis

January 25, 2010 by Dave

This week it was announced that the Player’s Handbook Heroes series of miniatures from WotC will be canceled. For those of you unfamiliar with the product, the idea was to separate the big “mystery packs” that they had been doing since the beginning of the D&D minis line with Harbinger.

Inq. of the Week: The Original D&D Dilemma?

January 18, 2010 by Bartoneus

Last Thursday Matt James wrote a short piece about the classes in the first versions of D&D and how they developed into the roles we have today in 4th Edition. A lot of discussion happened in the comments of that post, but it led me to create this week’s Inquisition where we can find out precisely which of the oldest classes was most popular.

Inq. of the Week: So This Is A New Year

January 4, 2010 by Dave

As we roll into the new year, there are two important questions here. One is an open-ended question, to which you will have to answer in a full comment: what are some of your predictions for the coming year? The other is multiple choice, and I assure you, of vast importance.

Inq. of the Week: 4E D&D in 2010?

December 28, 2009 by Bartoneus

This week I’m taking a hard look at what has been announced for Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition in the coming year (you can see them all at WotC’s catalog in wondrous chronological order) and wondering what’s in store, getting a taste of what I’m going to like and what I won’t in 2010.

Inq. of the Week: Seasons Greetings

December 14, 2009 by Dave

I’ve run a few adventures in wintery climes (they go hand in hand with frost giants, after all) and it does add an extra flavor above and beyond the normal temperate adventures. That’s my way of using gaming to introduce this real world question…

Inq. of the Week: Friendly Local Gaming Stores?

November 30, 2009 by Bartoneus

This week December is officially upon us, and with it comes the full force of the holiday season and all of the shopping that implies. I find it a shame that ordering RPG books online from places like Amazon is so much cheaper then it would be if I were to go to my local game store.

Inq. of the Week: Video Game Playing, 2009

November 23, 2009 by Dave

Can I just say, there are a crazy amount of video games that have been released lately that I want to play?

Inq. of the Week: Video Formats?

November 16, 2009 by Bartoneus

We seem to be at an interesting crossroads when it comes to movies and video formats, with Blu-ray beating out HD DVD I assumed everything would transition over pretty quickly but it still seems that regular DVDs are the primary format for people watching movies at home.

Inq. of the Week: Story Games, Or Whatever You Want To Call Them

November 9, 2009 by Dave

The three games I’m in campaigns of are all 4e. I own a fair number of games and so I get cravings for other games. Recently, a few of us have decided to embark on a mission to mix in some other games into our busy schedules, focusing on one-shot adventures such to experience a wide range of other games.
