The Selesnya Brief: Introduction

February 8, 2019 by Dave

Guildmaster's Guide to Ravnica

Three Parts Dead put the idea of a fantasy legal thriller in my head. And I knew the Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica was coming out soon. Putting them together and The Selesnya Brief was born.

Magic: the Gathering Officially Comes to D&D

April 27, 2016 by Dave

For years, gamers have wondered why two of the biggest fantasy brands in the world, Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, couldn’t come together, especially since they’re both made in the same building.

Origins 2012 Report

June 13, 2012 by Dave

I almost didn’t attend Origins this year, despite having attended for many years prior. The date change meant that a number of people I knew would not be attending this time around, cutting down reasons for attending. Likewise, I was already making other plans for that time off. Then Get Bit! was nominated for an award, and that pretty much settled that. Despite the changes, I still had a good time. Here are some of the highlights for me.

Boardgaming Resurgence

May 5, 2011 by Bartoneus

Just over a year ago our group of friends was heavily into the deck building game Dominion. It was relatively new but had been out long enough to have three quick expansions and we really couldn’t get enough of it. Some days we would play game after game for hours on end. As should be expected, we eventually burned out from that pace. Thankfully, over the last two months I have noticed an extreme increase in the amount of board games that my friends and I have been playing and I want to share a few of the stand out games we’ve been enjoying.

Will of The Forsaken (WTF for short)

February 23, 2010 by Vanir

There was a full decade of my life when I declared there were two things I’d never play. One was MMO’s. I decided this when a guy I knew quit his job to play Everquest full time and mooch off his girlfriend. The other was collectible card games, because I was astounded at how much money one could drop on them. This decision was made easy to live with by being in college and/or mostly poor. Over the last two years, both of these vows have been broken.
