Eulogy for D&D Miniatures

January 24, 2011 by Mike Shea

We are gathered here today to say goodbye to some old friends. For the last seven years they have entertained us with their crazy overly-large axes, completely inappropriate phallic clubs, and fiery jazz hands. They have fuelled our imaginations with naked bat-winged lady-folk and helped us avoid trying to describe just what the hell a […]

Inq. of the Week: Welcome to the New Digs / Hero Minis

January 25, 2010 by Dave

This week it was announced that the Player’s Handbook Heroes series of miniatures from WotC will be canceled. For those of you unfamiliar with the product, the idea was to separate the big “mystery packs” that they had been doing since the beginning of the D&D minis line with Harbinger.

And also, the end of the D&D Miniatures game

October 24, 2008 by Dave

The end of “fully randomized” D&D Miniatures

October 21, 2008 by Dave

All my scoop sources just lit up with this announcement: D&D Miniatures, after the next set, will no longer be sold in completely random boosters.  According to the release, there will be “D&D Heroes” sets that will be sold in packaging that makes all the figures visible, so you already know what you’re getting. Each […]

D&D Miniatures 2.0 Rules Released

January 17, 2008 by Dave

Wizards posted them yesterday. Many were hoping that this would preview a lot of 4E combat changes, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Nonetheless, there were a few changes that stood out to me from the previous version of the DDM rules: No more morale! Previously, a big part of the game was […]
