The fifth edition Player’s Handbook, for the first time in D&D history, makes a bold statement about sexuality and gender. It encourages you to imagine different. However, a few failures of imagination exist with regard to depicting this sort of equality in games and other media.
Dalt Wisney’s World: A D&D Play Report
I decided it would be cool to run the players through an old school dungeon. White Plume Mountain came up as a perfect model of the crazy “makes-no-sense” concept of early 80’s dungeon design. I just needed to find a semi-plausible reason to plug the adventure into the world. That’s where the Faerie Dragon came in.
Review: “Storm King’s Thunder” – A Giant-Sized Toolbox
“Storm King’s Thunder” is a campaign-length adventure as players travel to and fro in the northern Forgotten Realms fighting cranky giants and trying to figure out why they’re all up to various destructive plots, apocalyptic shenanigans, and general tomfoolery all of a sudden.
Magic: the Gathering Officially Comes to D&D
For years, gamers have wondered why two of the biggest fantasy brands in the world, Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons, couldn’t come together, especially since they’re both made in the same building.

Review: “Monster Manual” for “Dungeons & Dragons” 5th Edition
With a fantastic design, writing that inspires the imagination, and mechanics that make monsters fun to run and fun to fight, the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Monster Manual may very well be the best monster book ever written.
What I Did on My Summer Con Season Vacation
This summer was extra-special. Although I have been exercising my RPG muscles, both personally and professionally, in different directions, there is no ignoring the launch of the new edition. And for someone so steeped in Organized Play, the launch of a new D&D campaign at the start of a new edition of the game is a critical hit.
Target Mapping your Monsters: Worldbuilding via the “Monster Manual”
While I read the newest Monster Manual, I could feel the monsters coming together in and around dungeons and world events. There is easily digested lore for every monster in the main part of the book, and each of the 2-3 pieces of lore has something a GM can sink their teeth into and turn into a piece of an adventure.
