The Politicians Have Eyes

March 10, 2006 by Bartoneus

There is a Gamespot news article detailing Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton’s latest attempts to stab at the heart of the evil, youth-eroding industry that is Video Games. For a long time they have been set on finding some way to legally prohibit the distribution, if not the very creation, of violent video games in […]

Elder Scrolls IV Now Gold!

March 3, 2006 by DarthCthulhu

According to Gamespot, Oblivion has finally gone gold! I think I speak for everyone everywhere (well, everyone who isn’t a ninny) when I say: WOOOO! Of course, we should wait for confirmation from a certain architect who works in the same building as Bethesda Softworks. But still… WOOOHOO!

More bitching about WoW (and other MMORPGS)

February 28, 2006 by Dave

We must be edgy. We used “bitch” in two post titles today alone. Anyway, Ralph Koster, an executive in the MMORPG industry, posted a hilarious list of things that can be learned from MMORPGs. “Intelligent beings who have civilizations and languages of their own are generally evil and should be slain.” (link via the directory […]

After this comes the Batman/Battle Pope crossover

February 25, 2006 by Dave

Frank Miller, creator of the seminal Dark Knight Returns and who recently got more press thanks to the Sin City movies, was in a lot of the papers due to his next project Holy Terror Batman. The gist is that Batman is going to fight Osama Bin-Laden. Miller originally announced the project after 9-11, but […]

Chamberlin! Stop Your Whining!

February 25, 2006 by DarthCthulhu

After over twenty years, Jim Henson Productions has given the go-ahead to make a sequel to The Dark Crystal. Interestingly, the production will be directed by none other than Genndy Tartakovsky, known for his Cartoon Network work on Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and of course the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series.

A Venomous Preview

February 24, 2006 by Bartoneus

Superherohype has posted the newest preview image from Spiderman 3, which seems like a well concieved attempt to get everyone’s blood rushing.  I certainly hope that it turns out to not be misleading, but the image is definitely not in black and white, which leads to the conclusion that Peter is wearing a black costume […]

Magnatune: They Are Not Evil

February 24, 2006 by DarthCthulhu

I discovered an interesting little site recently called Magnatune. It’s a place where you can buy (legally!) music online. As is typical with these types of sites, you can listen to a streamed version of the music you’re considering buying before actually plunking down any money.

WoW Gone Bad and The Dissapearing Phantom

February 22, 2006 by DarthCthulhu

There’s an interesting Gamasutra article on the lessons WoW is teaching. It’s worth a read, though if you like WoW, you’ll probably hate the article. In other news… It’s official! The Phantom is dead and Infinium Labs is circling the drain. They’re still desperately clinging to life and are trying to bring their Phantom Lapboard […]

Lifeblood for the PSP

February 22, 2006 by Bartoneus

Sometime last year, an epic battled ravaged gamers everywhere as they heavily debated whether Sony’s PSP or the Nintendo DS would be the handheld to have. Some people got both, some people didn’t get either, but I eventually caved to the PSP’s delicious screen and sumptuous audio aspirations. At this point neither handheld boasted a […]

Real Transformer!

February 12, 2006 by DarthCthulhu

New from Japan! A robot that transforms from a four wheeled vehicle to a bipedal robot and back! All it needs now is to be increased in size by several tons and make the classic Transformer noise! More than meets the eye!
