Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game on Kickstarter Now

February 19, 2019 by Dave

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gtgames/sentinel-comics-the-roleplaying-game/

We’re in the final hours of the Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game Kickstarter, a co-production of us here at Critical-Hits Studios and Greater Than Games. Based on the world of Sentinel Comics (especially the card game Sentinels of the Multiverse), the Sentinel Comics RPG lets you take the role of a hero in the Sentinel Comics world, either an existing hero or one of your own creation.

We have been working on the game for over 4 years now, engaging in at least 100 playtests. The first introductory product was the Starter Kit that let players try the system out. Now, the Kickstarter will lead to the release of the core rulebook into the world. While using the same base system as unveiled in the Starter Kit (with a few minor tweaks based on feedback), the core rulebook expands on those rules with a plethora of examples, advice, and options.

And yes, you CAN create your own heroes.

There’s also rules for making your own villains (including how to scale them from “part of a team of villains” to “full blown solo threat”), environments, scenes, and a variety of ways to use scene elements to create dynamic and vibrant super heroic moments at the table.

We’re very proud of it, and the Kickstarter is the chance to see how much players out there are interested in the game. The core rulebook funded quickly, and as we close in on the final few days, we’re trying to see if we can fund some additional supplements. We’re going for that final push from “here’s a rulebook and some extras” to “here’s a complete line of products including a fully-fledged sourcebook with hopefully more to come.” We have a lot of great freelance writers lined up to work on future books and so we’d love to have those funded in advance.

In the meantime, the Kickstarter is the easiest way to show there’s demand.

If you want more information about the game itself, GTG has released the Gameplay Guide from the Starter Kit free in PDF. Additionally, you can check out our page of resources on the game for reviews, replays of livestreams, and other actual play games.

We hope you’ll give us your support, spread the word, and help save the multiverse.
