This article has no flowery language, no bile to spew, not even the smallest attempt to reconcile it with gaming. But I think it should be publicized anyway, in whatever way possible, simply for the sheer magnitude of vileness.
If anyone ever needed any evidence pointing to the inherent evil present in all humanity, that all of humanity is complete and total scum, this provides it.

That’s just shocking. I’m surprised that so many adults were tricked into thinking he was a policeman, or that the victims didn’t protest more about it. There’s a quote in there about how it should be common sense that you don’t strip search a girl suspected of stealing change. How can someone get to a state where they don’t even think of it? Or, worse, think that it’s reasonable to make a girl perform oral sex?
It’s really sad that managers are blaming it on a “lack of warning”. More like a lack of general sense. You’re not supposed to blindly trust strangers on the phone, you learn that as kids. Even if they say they’re a cop.

It’s not a lack of sense. It’s the human experience. Haven’t you read the Milgram study? http://www.new-life.net/milgram.htm

I’ve read the Milgram study, thanks. Those were people shocking people with direct authority there. This is management strip-searching people and humiliating them for hours based on the perceived authority of someone on the phone. Much more severe, and there’s more time to “wake up” and realize that they’re doing something very wrong.
