Dear Roger Ebert

July 13, 2010 by Vanir

I’ve always admired Roger Ebert. Though I disagree with his assertion that videogames can’t be art, I still deeply respect his opinion. As long as he finds out for sure, that is.

Starcraft 2 is Finally Coming Out

May 20, 2010 by Bartoneus

Considering how much I’ve written about Starcraft and Starcraft 2 in the past, it should be a little bit surprising that I haven’t brought it up in the last few months since the official release date has been announced (7/27/10) and the beta has been ongoing since February. Well, honestly I haven’t written about it lately because I’ve been in the beta since early March and have been having the time of my life with it.

Game Review: Left 4 Dead 2

January 7, 2010 by Bartoneus

Late last year when the game Left 4 Dead was released by Valve for X-Box 360, our friend (and occasional writer here at CH) Joshx0rfz wanted to post a short and sweet review of it saying simply, “It’s as fun as a shotgun blast to the face!” Today I’d like to discuss it in detail and address some of the concerns I had about the game.

Inq. of the Week: Non-RPG Content?

August 3, 2009 by Bartoneus

Well voting for the ENnies closed over the weekend, first and foremost I’d like to extend our thanks and appreciation to everyone who voted for us! No matter what you ranked our site compared to the others, they all help and hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised at the ceremony during GenCon.

Maverick Cake Hunter

June 10, 2009 by Bartoneus

A little over a week ago we celebrated my birthday with raucous partying and the like, it’s always good to get a large group of friends together for communal debauchery.  However, what really made the day for me was my lovely wife’s efforts into creating what has to be one of the best birthday cakes […]

Inq. of the Week: Opinions of E3 2009?

June 8, 2009 by Bartoneus

For the past week I’ve been hearing faint whispers around the edges of my radar about E3 going on, but it feels like this year everything is far more muted than it has been in previous years. The only thing that I’ve really heard a lot of excitement about is the new Star Wars: The Old Republic trailer, which does look extremely badass and the changes to the MMO style really intrigue me.

Inq. of the Week: Games You Play 2008

November 10, 2008 by Bartoneus

Our rather appropriate presidential poll has now closed, and it looks like we’re all doomed!  I myself was almost swayed by the logical tagline, “Why settle for the lesser of two evils?”  I held out, but most of you just couldn’t resist the Elder Sign ticket coming in with the small win at 31%.  Not […]

Inq. of the Week: New Games?

October 27, 2008 by Bartoneus

I was actually pleasantly suprised when I saw the question Dave asked last week, to find out what our favorite undead creature is, and some of the results are a bit surprising.  The Lich came out in first with 25% of the total votes, followed in a very distant second by the blood-sucking Vampire with […]

The Top 10 Songs that Should Never be in Rock Band

September 17, 2008 by Bartoneus

I’m sure it’s happened to many of you, listening to the radio either in the car or at work and hearing a particular song and thinking, “Damn, this song really should be in Rock Band!”  Apparently this happened so much that our friend DrScotto began to reply with simply, “EVERY song should be in Rock […]
