My wife came home sick from work on Wednesday with what turned out to be strep. As this was not our first Strep Rodeo, I took my CPAP machine and made my bed upon the couch, where I slept until last night. I’m not exactly sure what about this situation prompted me to decide to catch up on six seasons worth of Doctor Who, but it made sense at the time. Basically every moment that I’ve been awake that my son has not has been filled completely to the brim with Daleks. I would watch the show with my 4 year old son, except I’ve got this thing where I don’t want my kid to freak out and run away from robots. Although, depending on how the future turns out, that might actually be a good thing to do. I’ll ponder this. Yes, this has something to do with my D&D campaign eventually, but you’ll have to wibbly wobbly timey wimey or something.
Inq. of the Week: Prizes and Treasures?
This week we are not posting a new poll as part of the Inquisition, instead we are looking to solve a very terrible problem which Dave and I now have. You see…we simply have too much stuff that we want to give away on this fancy-schmancy website and we aren’t entirely sure how to do it!
Inq. of the Week: Doctor… Who?
This weekend held one of the few must-see TV events for me: the premiere of the new season (or to some, new series) of Doctor Who here in the US. When reviewing the RPG, I mentioned how much of a fan of the more recent episodes I am. I thought David Tennant did a fantastic job, and was sad to see him go. However, I was still looking forward to seeing what the new guy would bring to the job.
First Impressions: “Doctor Who: Adventures in Time and Space” RPG
Cubicle 7 has created a version clearly aimed at a broader audience than those who would normally play an RPG. First, it’s a boxed set, containing everything you need to get playing. Second, everything is separated by role: there’s a player’s guide and a gamemaster’s guide, and there’s nothing needed that requires you to read the other role’s book. Finally, the text tries to be a helpful to new players as possible.
YouTube Tuesday: Doctor WTF Edition
What happens when ou mash-up Doctor Who, Benny Hill, and Eminem? A lot of running, at the very least. Hat tip to Graham.
