Review: Straight Outta Lynwood

September 28, 2006 by Dave

After last Sunday’s premier of a Robot Chicken episode that featured a Weird Al video, the Adult Swim bump said something to the effect of: “If you took a time machine back to 1986 and said, in 20 years, Micheal Jackson = flamed out, Weird Al = still relevant, we’d have laughed our asses off.” […]

Review – PLAY! A Videogame Symphony

August 7, 2006 by Sucilaria

August 4th, 2006 – Imagine yourself in my place.  Sitting through your last of three semesters of music history, finally having come to the 20th century.  You’ve covered the greats – Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms – composers who have inspired young minds to pursue music for centuries.  And yet you find yourself wondering – when […]

The Ultimate Showdown

January 9, 2006 by Bartoneus

This came to my attention late last week, and I have quickly grown quite fond of recalling it throughout my day. http://www.ultimateshowdown.org/ It is a large shockwave-flash animation, to a song that I can only assume some unknown band made up a year ago that only a select group of the internet elite have ever […]

My love/hate/exercise relationship with DDR

January 5, 2006 by Dave

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. It being the holidays and all, and with some of us being tied to the college year schedule, things have slowed down a bit. But I expect as people get bored again, they’ll come back here to rant about whatever video game or large corporation has them down. […]

Support Mash-Ups and your right to remix: American Edit

December 13, 2005 by Dave

As reported on previously, a great online “mash-up” (what we used to call more generally as a “remix”) of Green Day’s American Idiot album was released for free, but then Warners decided that for whatever reason this was bad to help promote an album (or albums, if you count the stuff it is mashed up […]
