San Diego Comic-Con 2010 Preview Night
Here’s a quick post to cover the tiny bit of Comic-Con that’s happened so far. After a mistake that put me on the wrong shuttle and a nearly hour-long drive around downtown, I arrived at the house Chris Tulach and I have rented a room in. Then after a 30-minute walk back down to the convention center, I snagged my professional badge and headed toward the exhibit hall that was just opening up.
Movie Review: “Inception”
Inception is a wildly entertaining summer blockbuster wrapped in the packaging of a sleeper hit science fiction thriller/heist film. All of the comparisons of this movie to films such as The Matrix and Blade Runner are well deserved but fall short of the deeply involving experience that Inception provides the viewer. The film excels due to the stunning combination of well executed directing, inspired writing, spot on acting, and seamless production.
Dear Roger Ebert
I’ve always admired Roger Ebert. Though I disagree with his assertion that videogames can’t be art, I still deeply respect his opinion. As long as he finds out for sure, that is.

My daddy worked on the parallel port, and worked 256 shifts manufacturing computer metaphors! And all you damn kids want is more explosions. I’ll have none of it!

I grew up with the movie Tron. Okay, I’ll admit that I grew up with a lot of movies, but there is a shorter list of movies that I watched at least once a year for my entire life up to the age of 18. Tron is most certainly on that list, along with Aliens, […]
Uncle Vanir’s Jedi Jamboree
I personally would like to see every last one of the Presidents of the United States in a fighting game, their legacy distilled into a couple of special attacks.
Why “District 9” is Better Than “Avatar”
I realized that District 9 shared quite a few ideas with Avatar and was curious as to why I favored one over the other. I decided to try and break it down. This article isn’t really meant to be a review but more of an analysis of the differences between these two very important movies.
Comic Books, Franchises & Reboots Oh My!
Allow me to take you on a small adventure through my life of the last few months. With more spare time than I’ve had in the last six years and a cornucopia of neglected hobbies crying out for attention, trying to choose what to do next can be rather difficult.
