Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game Starter Kit Released

November 21, 2017 by Dave

The first product for the Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game, and Critical-Hits Studios’ first mass produced/print product (in partnership with Greater Than Games), is on its way into stores and into the hands of preorderers now. Your local game store can order it for distribution, and if you don’t have a game store, you can order it directly from the Greater Than Games store shortly.

The Starter Kit serves as an introduction to the Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game system, as well as to the universe of Sentinel Comics, made popular in the Sentinels of the Multiverse card game.

The Starter Kit includes:

  • Gameplay Guide, which teaches the rules of the RPG (using its own system created specially for the SCRPG), as well as advice for GMs on how to run the game.
  • Six pregenerated heroes from the pages of Sentinel Comics, featuring the Freedom Five (Legacy, Tachyon, Wraith, Absolute Zero, and Bunker) and their former intern Unity. Each hero comes in its own character booklet that contains all the information you need to run the character, a detailed explanation of how the rules for heroes work in SCRPG, and a primer on the hero you’re playing.
  • Six issues (2-3 hour long premade adventures) that teach how to play and run the game while experiencing a connected story line that shows what has happened to the Freedom Five and the Prime Wardens after the OblivAeon event in Sentinel Comics. With a variable play order for three of the issues, individual groups will experience their own version of the story. At the end of the story line, make a collection from your issues to springboard the heroes into a new campaign.
  • A quick reference/GM screen sleeve to contain it all.

All of this retailing for US $20.

The Starter Kit serves as an important teaching tool for the Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook, to be released in 2018, which will contain information on how to create your own heroes, modify existing heroes, create your own villains and environments, more sample issues, character sheets for a new generation of heroes, and much much more.
