Champions Online: Being 13 Forever

October 11, 2009 by The Chatty DM

Oh yeah, like some others, I succumbed to to the Champions Online bug.  I’ll post a short review later this week but in the meantime I had to share a few screenshots of my latest PC, the 4th I made so far.  And I confess that I really am nothing more than a 13 year old boy with a closet full of Image Comics from the early 90’s

Front Loaded 2

Meet… Front Loaded!  (Insert adolescent laugh)  She’s a redeemed Master (or is it Mistress he he he) of the Infernal Path of the Demonic Twin Cannons.

(Sigh)

But enough about fluff… let her action speak for themselves!

Front Loaded in Action

I kill you dead sucka!

So yeah, she’s Lara Croft meets Equilibrium, with big red plastic buttons!

Oh and here she is, posing with Millennium City Mayor Calvin Biselle and some random Canadian guy in the back.

Front Loaded with the Mayor

I love this game… and I love being 13!

    Hilarious. Good name.

Munitions is still my favorite power set.

Yeah, I think it might become mine also… I’ll have to power level her to catch up to my buddies. Thanks for tuning me in on the game. I,d seen them at Gen Con but didn’t catch how cool the game could be.

When I saw this I kinda expected Captain Hugemuscles or something. I guess I pictured you as the wrong kind of 13-year-old! You’re more like me since in every online game I’ve played some kind of over-the-top female character. (I used to play some Ragnarok Online and WoW…female characters are just good strategy for getting freebies and help.)

I was into girls as much as I was into geek stuff pretty young in my life.

As for playing female characters… I almost always play such characters in video and computer games. Not for the freebies… just because I can I guess. 🙂

Yeah, I usually play female characters in games and RPGs. I started off doing it just because it was different (having played video games all my life, I noticed that few had female characters). But then you start noticing the benefits of it if you play for a long time. I remember in Ragnarok Online, which has a marriage system and other weird relationship stuff, me and my friends would always use female characters because PVPers would be less likely to stomp on us, and people threw free items our way all the time. Of course when people start offering you marriage proposals online, that’s when your gamer wit is tested…

Hey, if you want to look me up in game, I’m @Mysterious_J, and I’m part of the Repeat Offenders SG and open channel. Munitions is my current favorite as well, and my current main is Hood (link is to some picks on flickr) She’s inspired by Shamus’s posts on Champs, particularly Concealed Carrie and the two Riding Hoods he ran across in the tutorial. I’ve gotten some nice compliments in game on her look, and people wanting to know if I’ve played Darkstalkers (?) which apparently has a similar character. Also one creepy guy “mock” hitting on her, but let’s not go into that….

Hey Josh, I’ve noted your handle. Mine is @chattydm. Nice character, I wonder if there ae going to be costume contests, because I’m starting to like making PCs a lot.
