Test animation for an Iron Man anime, the final of which is to be written by Warren Ellis. Below, a similar test animation for the Wolverine anime, also to be written by Ellis, but that doesn’t look nearly as good.

Ehhhh, I’m not so hot on either of these, but definitely less so on the Wolverine one. Becky said, “but this is what kids like these days” but I’m not so sure of that.
Personally, I’d really like to have seen an Ironman cartoon that has this kind of good animation and high intensity action, but without the anime-style character design. I’d much rather see modern day equivalents to the 80’s and 90’s style of animation that I grew up with just updated with anime ideals. The new GI Joe cartoon may be an example of this, also written by Ellis as a matter of fact, but I haven’t gotten a chance to see it yet though.

By anime standards it looks pretty bad. And old. I haven’t seen anime in that particular style for 10 or 15 years maybe. Compare it to fan favourites like Ghost in the Shell or A Vision of Escaflowne, and you will see that they have set the quality bar pretty low.
