This post bring together all the articles I wrote about Robin Laws of Good Game Mastering from January 2008 to July 2009.
For those who haven’t heard or seen it, this book, published in 1999, gives advice on being a Game Master (irrespective of game systems). The series was aimed at revisiting it in the light of my realities as a GM in 2008-2009.
Here are the posts:
- Robin’s Laws Revisited: Part 1, The Rule 0 of DMing
- Robin’s Laws Revisited: Part 2, Player Types and Traits
- Robin’s Laws Revisited: Part 3, Picking up your set of rules
- Robin’s Laws Revisited: Part 4, Creating your Campaign
- Robin Laws’ Revisited: Part 5, Creating your Adventure
- Robin Laws’ Revisited: Part 6, Being Spontaneous!
- Robin Laws’ Revisited: Part 7, Running your Game
- Robin Laws’ Revisited, Part 8: Improvising
- Robin Laws Revisited, Part 9: Conclusions (His and Mine)
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this series as much as I enjoyed writing it. Don’t hesitate to comment on any posts as I’ll likely respond to it.

Hi Chatty, your series about Robin’s Laws Revisited gave me an idea to a framework which I call Campaign Quality Concept. I would like that you take a look and share your opinions if you have time.
