Contest is now Closed (for real)

May 21, 2009 by The Chatty DM

The One-Page dungeon contest is now closed.  We have passed the 100 entries point making this an awesomely successful endeavor.  What started as a crazy idea to get the word our on the template has lead to a deluge of entries.

Of course, we’ll need some time to look them over and judge them.  There’s a good chance that Chgowiz and I, along with our 4 judges, will be spending a sizable amount of our free time over the next month judging these babies.   To that effect, don’t expect to see any result before the second half of June.

We noticed that there’s a big demand to see the entries and know that we noted it.  We will be discussing this with the judges over the next few weeks.

Until then, sit tight and feel free to publish your entry on your website/blog of choice.

I also wish to extend a HUGE thank you to all participants, sponsors and judges that are helping make this contest such a big success.

All right, enough talk, time to dive in!

I’m trying to collect links to all entries on a wiki page:

If you publish your dungeon somewhere, post a link on the wiki. If you would like to publish your dungeon but have no webspace to do it, I’ll host it for you. Just send me an email to kensanata@gmail.com.

Man, after seeing how good the posted entries are, I’m a bit embarrassed to post mine.

Well, the way I see it, I also want to read through those 80% average dungeons because I want to see how other people play. If every one of these other dungeons is a masterpiece and a jewel, then I’ll feel miserable about my daily games. But if I see that everybody else also “just uses water to cook” as we say here in Switzerland, I’ll feel better about myself, and in good company. And I bet I’ll still get a kick out of reading all those entries.

It’s a good argument Alex. This will be discussed seriously.

One thing I was thinking we could do, baring approval by my partner, would be to create 2 PDFs. One with the winners and such to be published freely on the PDF stores and another with all entries and hosted at chattydm for free download.

    I understand your impatience. 🙂
