Last Day for the One Page Dungeon Contest (for Real)!

May 20, 2009 by The Chatty DM

As Chgowiz says on his website this morning:

We have a plan and we have a clear, unambiguous, well thought out deadline!

Today is the last day to send us your One page dungeons. Your entries need to hit our email box at onepage@chattydm.net BEFORE 8.00am – Eastern Time – US tomorrow (May 21st, 2009)!  After that it’s over and we’re going to shutter ourselves away to start judging these babies.

We’ve got about 100 entries so far, making this a success beyond belief (and that’s not counting the revisions we got)!

Have you sent yours yet or are you one of those last minute, performs-best-under-pressure types?

Well this is the eleventh hour!  Hurry and send it if you haven’t already!

I’ve been way to busy to even try to create a 1-page dungeon, even with the additional week. I’m glad it was a success. Have fun reviewing them all.

Do you send an acknowledgement of receipt? After the post about server issues, I’m wondering whether you received the one I sent…

I don’t always send out confirmations, we have had a lot on our minds lately, the server issue being one of them.

Turns out the server hack was only aimed at our php scripts.

We got your entry all right! best of luck!

Was it wrong of me to think, “No! Don’t extend the contest! That just gives more people a chance to beat me!” ?

I think there were about 75 entries at the original deadline. That’s jumped by a third since then. Oh well, one-page dungeons are the true winner I guess 😀

More than anything, I am looking forward to seeing all the entries!

@Colmarr: No you weren’t wrong, we argued long and hard about this as we initially rejected many, many entries last week. When we decided to extend the dealine, we settled on a week to give everyone who were thinking of entering but were short on time to do so a chance.

It was a compromise, at least it gives us a lot of dungeons!

@Nicholas: We likely won’t be publishing all entries as we plan to publish the winning entries (and possibly the runner ups). We’ll explore what can be done with the other entries, but anything we plan will require the approval of participants.

All right, there’s 35 minutes left to the contest.

I think you should put them together in a single document for publication. It’d be great to see all those one pagers in a book.
