At long last, the audio for our GenCon panel on being an RPG Blogger is up.
The panel includes:
- Myself and Bartoneus
- Yax from Dungeonmastering
- Phil the ChattyDM
- Tasha the StupidRanger
- Bob from RPG Digest
(Which, you’ll note, includes all the founders of the RPG Bloggers Network.)
Therein, in addition to hearing all of our voices, is a lot of great advice for all the RPG Bloggers out there. Find out about why each of us got into it, what tips we can give about writing, receiving comments, search engine optimization (or lack thereof), what blogging platform we recommend, and being you when you blog.
Show Notes:
- Thanks to Don of PulpGamer for inviting us to do it and for editing.
- Berin Kinsman of Uncle Bear, “the 1st blog”
- Graham our tech guy
- Mike Mearls, Keep on the Gaming Lands
- Pro Blogger
- SEO Book
- WordPress

Questing GM: Hope it helps! Let us know if there’s any other advice we can give- as we point out in the panel, always happy to give our input.
And keep up the good work on your Word of Wizards articles!

Excellent work, Dave. I hope the RPG Bloggers will afford some of the same and expanded opportunities for these sorts of cool projects at Gen Con this year.

Bob says
Apart from Tasha and Phil I still have trouble working out whos who half the time in that podcast. Just means I have to listen to it yet again I suppose :p

The Game says
Bob: It’s hard to hear, but this other video from GenCon might help:
since it features Bartoneus, myself, Yax, Tasha, and Phil from the panel to help match voices to faces. That just leaves (the other) Bob.
Bartoneus says
@ Bob: I’m the one who talks a lot but never really gets around to making much of a point. ๐
