The move is done and the furniture is in place. A few things will stay wonky for some time but all critical things are in place. The Fortress of Crunch is open for business!
(Try fluffing me out of this dear Mr. Baur! Mwa Ha ha ha!!!)
I’d like to thanks the following people who either helped me a lot working the kinks during the move or to those who cheered me on or inspired my move:
- PM who helped me fix the emailing of comments issue by digging in WordPress’s Trac.
- ve4Grm who gave me the name of a cool hosting service and dug in the Blog’s templates to help me fix the dead links on the Blog’s header.
- Mike (who plays Brook Dindler the Vampire in Franky’s McWoD game) for showing up so early and chiming in the comments while I was wailing in frustration
- Omnius of Aleph Gaming, I should have linked to you earlier man, your blog is one well written piece of RPG goodness!
- Dave: The Game of Critical Hits (check their new series on starting a new RPG campaign) for the kind words of Welcome.
- Seth, one hell of a Troper. He may not love the new Web2.0 look of the blog but he gave me points for Coolness!
- The one and only Yax of Dungeonmastering for the shout-out and continued support
- Shamus Young from Twenty-Sided from whom I shamelessly stole the polyhedral dice Captcha idea.
- Monte Cook and Wolfgang Baur. No we’re not buddies but they have been gracious enough to play along my antics or allow me to tinker with the toys they made.
And you commenters and readers, you guys and gals have given me a sense of community I never expected in such a short time. I hope that we’ll continue to have fun for quite a while.

Nice, like the new diggs. Whats the vault of the future pic from? It seems famliar. But I cant quite place it.
ChattyDM says
Thanks Ronin,
It’s from the Fallout game. I was looking for the Fallout Cartoon Guy making a Thumbs-up gesture and found this instead…

Fallout one of those classic computer RPG whit flavor that oozed out like radioactive goo. ๐
That game is in my hall of fame of the best RPG games and probably in the top 5.

“Web 2.0” usually follows the “Less is More” guideline as well.
Except it’s more “Less is More, and now it’s Pink!”
If you need more emergency coding help, though, let me know.
ChattyDM says
Oh well, here I thought it was all about Chrome and Glizty web pages… ๐
Expect the color scheme and Banner to change rather drasticaly in the near future… ๐
Thanks again for the coding-fu ve4.

The chrome helps, but remember that flickr and facebook are both considered to be “Web 2.0” design. As is Shamus Young’s new layout.
Drop shadows, reflections (see Shamus’s header image), and lots of sleek sheen. Mostly, if it looks like an iPod, it falls under that designation.
ChattyDM says
Shamus’ site is where I took the web2.0 reference…. How post-modern is that?
I since then read Wikipoedia’s blurb on Web 2.0 and Blogs, Folkonomics and widgets like MyBlogLog and My library widgets are all part of this too…
Hmmm I guess it’s just one of them Buzzword that means everything at the same time…

Welcome to the wordpress side of the blogworld. Very nice looking so far ๐ Congrats on a smooth (or seemingly so) transition.
ChattyDM says
Thanks Buzzregog… I’m happy you can now post comments under your Nick and not Dave… I had a hard time telling you and D:TG apart when I read comments at 5 am! ๐
Yeah the transition seemed to be seamless to you guys… It was a bit arduous on my side but it was possible within one weekend! Now I just need to work up my Technorati Rating by writing some more cool stuff (or maybe I should just post some Pr0n)

Nice. I’ve heard good things about your site, and am happy that you’re no longer nannied, so I’ll be able to follow along.
ChattyDM says
Nannied? As in under the Iron Fist of Google dominion? ๐
Thanks for joining in Scott!
Ohh your the Llama fodder guy! Cool!
Wolfgang Baur says
Nice new digs you’ve got here. Would be a shame if a horde of demonic spiderlings moved in or anything. ๐
Congrats on the move!
ChattyDM says
Ahhh Mr. Baur…. So nice of you to drop in. Do make yourself at home on this plushy Seat-like contraption… don’t mind the straps… ๐
Thanks for dropping by Wolfgang!
