Grab a d20 and head on down to Worldwide D&D Game Day! Well… maybe. The official WotC page says “pre-register with [a retailer] today!” Lame… I want to be able to walk into a store and play something and not be bound to an RPGA-ish schedule. Thankfully, here in Maryland we have plenty of quality game stores, so maybe I’ll drop by one to check it out, even if I don’t get to play. They’ve already sent out some D&D Minis scenarios, which give me hope that I’ll be able to buy some Desert of Desolation boxes (come on, Gelatinous Cube!)

The Game says
I stopped by “Games, Comics, and Stuff” after class. There were 3 tables of D&D players going on, one with a number of younger players. I bought 6 boxes of Desert of Desolation. When I got home, I opened 5 packs to find mostly duplicates. Then #6 contained the Cube! It’s a really neat mini, and I sprang it on my players tonight (though they had already guessed it was coming.) And while I still haven’t played in a Worldwide D&D Game Day, it looked like a decent turn out.
