Real Ultimate Showdown: Dragons Win!

October 18, 2007 by Dave

All the votes are in, and Dragons are the winner! Congratulations to Snowpaws, who wins a $10 Amazon gift certificate in our first ever contest!

Dragons win!

For the record, Dragons defeated: Knights, Ninjas, Vampires, Jedi, Wizards

Vampires were their easiest match, taking 87% of the vote. Their toughest match was against the Ninjas, taking 56% of the vote.

We have objectively proven that Dragons are the best things ever. Huzzah!

Stay tuned next week for a new, all-different Showdown!

Some people are expressing concerns about starting up the next showdown so soon. What do you all think? Should we wait (and if so, how long)? Anything different you want to see in format?

I would like to see the showdowns being a much bigger (and more sparse) event. I know that it was easy to forget a poll was even going on – if there was some way, even a small one, to keep the showdown at the top of the page or something. Also, continuing the poll of the week while doing a showdown seems like a bit much.

I’d also like to see detailed write-ups of the contestants!

    My two cents 🙂

Much <3 to everyone who likes dragons and voted for them!
My gift certificate will be going toward “Confessions of a Part-time Sorceress”

    I’d say…

Use your battle intuition to make the matches more interesting, even in later matches…predict the future!…

‘Course, I don’t know if it can be done from here…

Congrats, Snowpaws…I assume you’re one of them metallic dragons with the cold breath…if only my Jedi had remembered to wear their winter robes…

    :(…

My memory is foggy from no D&D in 3 months…what’s that color again?…bronze?…

All I know off the top of my head is that Sapphire Dragons have sonic breath attacks. I really WISH that was the nerdiest thing I’ve ever said, but I’m sure it’s not…

Never heard of sapphire…sonic’s pretty cool though…not many things with immunity, or even resistance, to it…

Turns out it’s silver…could’ve sorn silver was lightning, but oh well…

At least I know how all the special combat options work…

Red dragons are so cool. I’m glad they won.
My world would’ve crumbled had they been beaten by ninjas.

Realy cool but I would beg to differ that Gold Dragons are the best.

Are you shure that Red Dragons are the best.
