Real Ultimate Showdown Round 4

October 4, 2007 by Dave

Real Ultimate Showdown - Round 4 - Bracket

[This round is over, go vote in the FINAL ROUND]

The final four combatants… or is that the fatal four? The fighting grows more intense in this penultimate round of the Real Ultimate Showdown.

Venture on to vote for WHO YOU WANT TO WIN in both match ups to determine who will advance the final round, and whose proxy will have a chance to win the grand prize. Voting for this round ends October 10th, 11:59P EST.

[poll=48]

Dragons vs. Vampires
I said that it would be one of our closest battles… and I was totally wrong. Evidently the vampires had no defense against the dragon’s fire breath and ability to walk around in the sun. Thousands of years of unlife, only to be burnt away into ash. WINNER: Dragons

Jedi vs. Robots
Though individual Jedi have had difficulty against robot armies and robot assassins designed to take them on, they have managed to triumph over the mechanized legions. Perhaps it is their alliance with the Sith that have turned the tide, and maybe they’ll pay the price for this later. WINNER: Jedi

An exciting match up. Both sides are not lacking in power or wisdom. Jedi believe having the high ground advantage, but is that really possible against a creature that can fly? Or will the Jedi resort to using X-Wings, and can they stand up to dragon magic?

[poll=49]

Secret Agents vs. Wizards
Secret Agents have plenty of experience leaping out of the way at the last second of large fireballs. But the wizards had more than a few tricks up their sleeve, and all the gadgets in the world aren’t much good against a well placed Limited Wish. WINNER: Wizards

Pirates vs. Predators
For full details of this combat, please watch the upcoming movie Predator 3: Scurvy Boogaloo. I hear Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura make great pirates. WINNER: Pirates

Trash talking between these two sides has already started during the previous round, confidant in their round 3 victories. Will the Brethern Court be able to hatch a plan to bottle the magic power of the wizards? Or will some summoned water elementals make short work of some mighty vessels? Or will this whole competition come down to a BATTLE OF THE BEARDS?

I hope it does not end up Jedi vs. Pirates, because I won’t know who to vote for in the final round!

Jedi- Weve already seen Jedi take out giant lizard like creatures, we know they can take a few firebreathing lizards with wings

Wizards- First off I just want to see wizards and jedi go at it.. would be neat. Secondly I hate how pirates won out against Predators..total bs! yeah I said it!

    Go dragons and wizards!

  6. TheMainEvent says

If its Wizards v. Dragons assume its going to be in a dungeon…

  7. Reverend Mike says

    October 4, 2007 at 6:10 pm

The Wizards have had too easy a road to make it this far…

In my opinion, they should have lost out to the Space Rebels, but without anyone backing any of those against the Wizards, it was a significantly easier match…

The Pirates deserve it…they’ve managed to persevere in incredibly close matches everytime…I think they’ll be able to do it this time too…

Plus D&D has biased me against Wizards in general…except for those of the coast…

Don’t care too much about the Jedi winning anymore…I just think the Wizards need to go down…

    No offense, main event…

as long as the pirates die in a fire… preferably one that is started by a wizard or dragon

Dragons will take the victory home for sure. They just own too much.

  10. Reverend Mike says

The Black Knight should’ve taken it…*sobs*…

  11. BugHunter says

    The Dragons shall avenge!

  12. Reverend Mike says

    October 6, 2007 at 3:02 am

No avenging is occuring…the dragons could care less about the robots…

  13. Reverend Mike says

    October 6, 2007 at 3:02 am

    Not much less though…

    Gorramn cliches…

  14. TheMainEvent says

    WIZARDS FTW

  15. Bartoneus says

    October 8, 2007 at 7:14 am

I’m starting to hear something…wait, yes, this just in, Ninjas might be a surprise last round contender because they’re totally way more sweet and cool and badass than any of these options!

  16. Reverend Mike says

    October 8, 2007 at 8:13 am

    But…they’re dead…

Only pirates can come back as ghosts…they don’t have ghost ninjas, do they?…

No one ninja is important enough to still have business in the material realm after death…thus, all ninjas standing up from the bloody footprint the dragons left would just be weird…

  17. The Game says

    October 8, 2007 at 10:18 am

“I’m starting to hear something…wait, yes, this just in, Ninjas”

You can’t hear Ninjas! Especially ghost ones!

  18. Reverend Mike says

    October 8, 2007 at 10:30 am

“But if you DO hear a ninja, it’s probably the last sound you’ll ever hear.”

    Come on, Pirates…

  19. Bartoneus says

    October 8, 2007 at 7:43 pm

Allow me to translate what I said: I make the bracket, Ninjas would be a simple cut/paste. Game Over!!! (i’m kidding…)

  20. Reverend Mike says

    October 9, 2007 at 12:32 am

    I figured…but speculation’s my thing…

  21. Bartoneus says

    October 10, 2007 at 9:19 am

WTF happened?! Total turn-around in the last 2 days?

  22. Reverend Mike says

    October 10, 2007 at 11:07 am

    OH SWEEEEET!…

  23. T-Bone says

    October 10, 2007 at 12:17 pm

PIRATES!! Pirates are the most overratted bullshit ever. Frankly, I’m surprised they made it this far, they have no power like the other 3 semi-finalists. In fact, thier best power it to be loved and constantly spammed in conversation between homosexual frat boys. Come out of the closet like your feather wearing hero pal!

  24. The Game says

    October 10, 2007 at 12:21 pm

There may have been some spammy-shenanigans on the pirates and Jedi, so we may have to correct appropriately. Sad that there had to be an incident so late in the game.

  25. Reverend Mike says

    October 10, 2007 at 4:41 pm

Ugh, my apologies…unknownst to me at the time, a few of my buddies DID in fact, spam the pirates and jedi yesterday over at the University Library…I did ask for their votes, but didn’t expect this…

Hate to ruin any chance the pirates might’ve had…

  26. Bartoneus says

    October 11, 2007 at 7:44 am

S’ok Mike, we won’t hold it against you! Plus it looks like the polls results have been fixed anyway.

  27. Reverend Mike says

    October 11, 2007 at 7:57 am

Well…at least I didn’t get beat by TWICE as many votes…

    :(…
