Thursday Mini-Nerd-News Update

April 12, 2007 by Bartoneus

Iron Man Mark 1 Armor

Greetings everyone!  New stuff from the last two days:

Movie-list has posted the newest full Spiderman 3 trailer which we had the pleasure of seeing before the joy of seeing 300, and you should definitely check it out.  The ending is the best part, and you get a much better sense of how Venom is going to be treated in the movie, it just might give you goosebumps too!

(via SuperheroHype)

As for another upcoming comic book movie, one which has a lot more to prove (and is likely to do so), the first image of Iron Man’s Mark 1 armor have been released which you can see to the right.  SuperheroHype as always has the full image and scoop.  Judging the entire movie off of just this one picture, Jami is already giddy as can be, and I have to say I am too!  Combine this with the latest images I’ve been seeing from the Transformers movie and things are hopefully looking up for nerd-gasm movies to come!

So long as none of the autobots start combining to make one huge guy, that would just ruin the realism.

Apparently the equivalent of a real-life Fortress of Solitude has been found in, you guessed it, Mexico!  This cave features some stunning 36 foot tall beams of translucent gypsum that are quite breathtaking in their size and texturing.  They believe this to be the work of volcanic activity combined with a plentiful source of water, but my money’s on the last remnants of a dying alien-world.

Edit: With so much talk of the upcoming Transformers movie, I wanted to share this huge page with tons of images of many of the Decepticon and Autobots and their ‘spiffy’ new designs for the movie.

My earliest memories of Bartoneus are: A) He had horses and B) he owned all the Constructicons and they combined into ONE HUGE ROBOT.

If autobots combined into one huge robot it would not only ruin the franchise’s realism, but also rape my childhood and forever taint preschool memories.

Chipmunk pride 4 life! Isn’t some diseased-soul trying to make a Voltron live-action movie?

Im excited about Transformers as well… but Im a little nervous about Soundwave. From the way theyve been talking about him in interviews I hope to god they dont mess him up.. or make him a jet.

We dont need anymore panzy arss starscreams

Soundwave is not in this movie. He’s reportedly being saved for a sequel. So long as he’s not an ipod i’ll be happy.

Voltron is real! Don’t you dare try to say otherwise!
    *hopes…. crushed!*

Yea it looks like Barricade (turns into a sweet looking police car) sort of takes Soundwave’s place, with skinny/knifey looking Frenzy coming out of his chest. Not sure what Frenzy is supposed to be, or why he comes out of another decepticon, but I know I like the designs!

Man that ironman suit makes him look like he just escaped from medieval times, where there are no utensils, but plenty of Pepsi.

theyre being kinda quiet about exactly what Frenzy is/is going to be… alot of criptic stuff like..

“hes gonna be something small, but used in everyday life. So you might think its him but its not, or not think its him or it is!”

Cerebralshrike: yea, but that’s really what his first set of armor is supposed to look like, then I imagine he streamlines it and the red/gold will turn out looking nice and sleak!

Where did you hear that stuff Steve? I want to read up on it.

Edit and Spoilers: From the wikipedia page it looks like we pretty much know that Frenzy is going to be a CD player? He shoots CD’s, so I think that’s pretty much set. 😛
