Bonus YouTube & Gathering Update: Loopin' Louie Championship 2007

April 5, 2007 by Dave

Because the game is pure skill and I’ve been practicing this past year, I made it to the finals of the Loopin’ Louie Championship at the Gathering. I am the first position to the left, to my right is William Attia, and across is the eventual winner Brian Stallings. If you watch the whole low-quality cell phone video, you can see me coming in second.

Other updates: I came in third in a Magic 9th ed draft, and I am currently winning the La Strada!!! world championship.

okay, loopin’ louie looks awesome, but the thing I can’t get past here, how on earth did you manage 9 minutes of video from a cell phone?

It was actually shot in 60 days, on blue and green screens in Toranto. It took about 150 days to add in all the special effects. Its based on actual events, with some adaptation to enhance plot and storyline….

I have a Treo smartphone with an SD card expansion slot that I could save 3+ hours of video to if I wanted.

I forgot to add the link the La Strada !! before:

You guys look pretty intense there. I think the only way I could handle the pressure from loopin louie would be to be incredibly intoxicated. True champions you all are.

Previous to the match I had drank a Sticky Nutty Irishman and Blue Hawaiian from Max & Erma’s. I believe they were the key to my success.
