Too Busy Photoshopping Boardgames (Poorly)

December 1, 2006 by Dave

Sorry, too busy to write a full column this week. But here’s one of the many projects I’ve been working on lately:

This all is for the Boardgamegeek/Mattel Photoshop Contest. If you have a BGG login you can check the other entries so far and whether you have a login or not you can check out a Geeklist of photoshopped boardgames.

Still working on: Hey! That’s Myspace

These are awesome, I hope you win! I have neither photoshop skills nor imagination to come up with this stuff.

Actually, if I got Photoshop, I could develop the skills, I’m sure. But it’s easier to leave it to people like you.

I don’t think Photoshop is a hard program to learn (at least at the level do these kind of things) but to create really good ones you need those talents they teach you at art school: perspective, shadows, etc. So while I’m ok at putting these together, I’d need a lot more training to do great ones.

I am, however, good at making fun of things 🙂

Oh- I’m sure I could learn Photoshop. I’m just too cheap to buy yet another program I won’t use very often.

And, yes, you are very good at making fun of things. And your ideas make up for the “lack” of artwork type stuff. Even the best art sucks if it doesn’t start with a good idea.
