Chamberlin! Stop Your Whining!

February 25, 2006 by DarthCthulhu

After over twenty years, Jim Henson Productions has given the go-ahead to make a sequel to The Dark Crystal. Interestingly, the production will be directed by none other than Genndy Tartakovsky, known for his Cartoon Network work on Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and of course the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series.

From the article: “Set hundreds of years after the events of the first movie when the world has once again fallen into darkness, Power of the Dark Crystal follows the adventures of a mysterious girl made of fire who, together with a Gelfling outcast, steals a shard of the legendary Crystal in an attempt to reignite the dying sun that exists at the center of the planet.”

If you recall the previous movie, the Gelflings were almost exterminated by the Skexies due to a prophecy in which they were said to bring about the end of the Skexies’ Empire. Only two Gelflings survived to repopulate the species. Which means, considering the hideous amount of inbreeding which must’ve occured, the Gelfling Outcast must be one seriously lacking in the chromosome department. Fantasy Rednecks!
Gelfling! Ugly, imbred Gelfling!

Man I loved that guy in the old Dark Crystal movie….what was his name? Willow? Yea, man, I loved Willow in that movie…

(this was not serious, anyone that takes it seriously I thus deem a doofus!)
