Some great intellect has devised a method of utilizing Google’s mapping program to produce a full overhead map of the world of World of Warcraft. Much more detailed then the in game map, this is an actual image of the very terrain that you walk over, including some regions I until recent thought untraversable. While not quite as intricately detailed as some may hope, it is still a very cool site that you can look around on for a while, zooming in and out of various locales looking for things you may have missed or that were put in merely as gryphon-riding eye-candy.
While this might not interest anyone that has not played World of Warcraft, just think of the possibilities it could have for any other game you play, or even for creating maps from a premade toolset for Dungeons and Dragons, and then allowing for zooming in/out and moving our at whim, which could then be distributed to your players so that they can use it whenever they like. Honestly though, who has time for that? (Thanks to Josh for showing me the site)
