On Wednesday, Day 0 of Gen Con, Trevor Kidd (community manager for Wizards of the Coast) gave us an opportunity to play in the Castle Ravenloft cooperative board game being released in the next few weeks. E of Geek’s Dream Girl, who was also in the game, already gave her impressions of it.
Later, Trevor asked Bartoneus and I to help him do an unboxing video of all the components, so we’re posting the video (in two parts) below. Enjoy and let us know if you have any questions about it.

You had me at Bacon of Hope. Best name for a Power, ever.
Darn, I want this game!
Nerd that is procrastinating on work and wishes he was at GenCon says
who gets to keep that now-open box? 🙂

Wow looks like WOTC totally ripped off Fantasy Flight’s Decsent boardgame.

Since Descent was a ripoff of Warhammer Quest, which was a ripoff of Hero Quest, which was a ripoff of TSR’s Dungeon!, it seems that the circle is complete.
This might be a good D&D fix for people who don’t have time for a proper campaign (or a 6-hour game of Descent)
Noah Marshall says
Yeah, it’s faster than Descent, and these types of games are a genre now. Pick your theme and have fun.
Also, and forgive me if this is mentioned in the video as I’m running internet off my hotel and it’s not terribly good for streaming video, the cards have collector numbers and set symbols. Any word on the next set?
Edit: Ah, read other articles first. Wrath of Ashlardon. Rad.
