When asked which Star Wars games you liked most, Knights of the Old Republic came out on top with 58% of the votes which is not entirely surprising but I was still a bit shocked as I had assumed one of the more classic games/series would pull ahead. The amazingly classic Tie-Fighter/X-Wing series came in second with 42%, followed by Rogue Squadron and then Jedi Knight tied with Lego Star Wars. With the glaring oversight of Shadows of the Empire being left to the “other game not listed” category I can only assume the entire poll’s results have been tainted horribly.
Now on to more recent events, next week on Wednesday July 4th the Transformers movie is coming out. I was initially skeptical, for about 2 minutes, and then the teaser trailer’s mix of realism with corny ideas somehow won me over. It was at that point I decided I was going to enjoy the movie no matter how bad it ends up being, either through geniune pleasure or outright hilarity. Then I learned that Michael Bay seemed to be putting some actual thought towards the realism of the Robots’ massing of vehicle vs. robot form and I started to take it a bit more seriously. Then the real trailer came out and I was sold, I can tell that Iam going to enjoy this movie. If on no other level, then solely on a pure action-packed entertainment basis.
If you haven’t seen the full trailer yet, I highly recommend checking it out. If you have seen the trailers, or you don’t care, we’re very interested to know…

See, I voted opening night, but I’d be sans the
“baby!” – I’m just going then because a certain other someone is so hyped 😛 I do think I’ll enjoy the film, though.

The 3D work looks awesome, but having worked for Hasbro (and on Transformers specifically) the brand is dead to me. I guess once you see how the brand is treated by it’s owners, and how this whole movie deal was a hack/mess 3 years ago, I just can’t bring myself to support it.
Maybe I’ll catch it when it comes to Blue Ray (which would change my no way vote), but even then I’m on the fens about it.

Linkin Park music with Optimus and Barricade fighting?! Count me in… listen, Transformers are awesome, but the shit was never Shakespeare. Just have a bunch of fighting robots ripping shit up and make sure the plot is not so abyssmal that it distracts from the huge fucking robots. That’s all this movie needs; I basically see this as being Independence Day with robots instead of aliens.

MainEvent: I think I agree with you totally, so long as the plot isn’t terrible enough to kill everything else, the movie should be great!

It seems pretty cheesy, but it may be a good renter.
