Inquisition of the Week: Blogging?

Thanks for letting us know who you are! Not only do we like to attach the people to the online personas, but those of you who tell us what you like to read and what you don’t really help us determine what to write. Now that con season is over, it may be more difficult for us to get the type of interviews we did often over the summer, but we’ll see what we can arrange. And since most of you don’t really care about the YouTubes, I may take a few weeks off, or try alternating or something. Anyway, we really appreciate hearing from you.

This week is a relatively easy question, sparked by my involvement with the RPG Bloggers Network. I’ve been amazed and seeing the different kinds of blogs out there, and what people want to write about… and that’s just limited to RPG bloggers. If I were to expand my search, or ever try to make some other kind of network, I’m sure I would be surprised at the different fields in which people blog and how they do it.

So, in that spirit, I ask:

Just like the US Census, this is a self-identification thing. If someone asks you if you’re a blogger or not, whether you do it regularly, rarely, professionally, unprofessionally, or otherwise, how would you respond?

Heck, while we’re at it, feel free to pimp your blog in the comments. (Be warned, if you link to too many at once, it might get temporarily stopped by the spam filter, but I’ll check it regularly.)

Only started blogging a few weeks ago, but I’ve had my hand in the blogosphere for quite some time…developed my title back in ’04 (back when I was The Mike, which later changed to Mr. Mike and eventually Reverend Mike when I got ordained in Summer ’06)…been a regular commenter here since Spring ’07…

    I blog about a lot of general hoo-ha…tv shows, anime, movies, RPG stuff, interesting things I find on the internet, and a few of my motivational posters which I’ve been making since Summer ’07…starting to focus a little more effort towards RPG-related stuff to build my audience with the RPG Bloggers Network…

    I’ve kept up with 1 or 2 posts a day since I started, so head on over and check it out…The Book Of Rev…

  6. Yep. I run RPGCentric (rpgcentric.com) and am trying to entrench further into the RPG community. I really enjoy gaming but, for me, I would rather immerse myself into the culture rather than just remain a “fringe element.” I feel that blogging allows me to do that. =)

  10. Most of the things I find important enough to write about are too disparate to warrant one place for people to come and view them. And perhaps I am averse to the idea of people actually reading what I have say, because then my poorly constructed ideas would be out there to pick apart.

    I blog about role-playing, virtual worlds, and (I hope) the politics and culture of role-playing. My rpg blog is new but I blogged about my life in Japan for 2 years while I was there. Sadly I am now in London, and need something to help me pass the time…

  15. I rather enjoyed reading all of last weeks comments from the people who read your blog: who they are; where they are from, etc.

    I’m currently blogging on tech things I find on the web. Some of them I’ve never heard of, others I’ve recently discovered, while others are a staple in my arsenal of tech gadgets that I can’t live without.

    It’s going slow because there is just so much to read out there and so many good tech sites that it’s hard to sift through them all. 😀

  17. I’m a blogger, currently brewing a different spin of d20 as well as an original world in the lab. In between the development posts I like chipping in on industry news and participating in inter-blog activities like the RPG Carnival and now Chatty’s Kobold Love project.

    In the future I would like to expand into more reviews and possibly software (character generators, campaign tracker, virtual table tops).

    I started it a few years back as a way to help me improve my written communication skills. While i do not post too often, I have been trying to post about subjects that are more close to me, to reveal more about me, but not revealing who I am.

    I also try to keep a semi-daily private journal about what I did during the day and how i feel.

  22. I blog at Nuketown.com on a variety of geeky and game topics (including the occasional forays into geek parenting).

    I’ve got an occasional podcast called Nuketown Radio Active, and I write a monthly column called “Summon WebScryer” for Knights of the Dinner Table Magazine (which, ahem, I really should be doing right now, instead of jotting this comment).
