Drunken D&D: Funny Quotes

September 4, 2008 by The Chatty DM

I’m too exhausted to write a real post. But I have something funny to share it with you.

At Gen Con, I played 2 sessions of Drunken D&D (designed by Dave the Game, DMed by yours truly) with my fellow bloggers friends.

I wrote a 5 scene adventure for it and Graham created the PCs.

We ended up playing only 2.5 scenes out of 5 because I put too many elite Brutes in Encounter one, we needed a lot more time to absorb the powers of 12th level characters and we actually roleplayed for about one hour in one scene.

But these 2.5 scenes were among the funniest, most entertaining hours of D&D I have ever played.

The DD&D quotes!

(BTW: Tequilus was the name of the God of Spirits, Hangovers, Shame and Porcelain featured in our game)

  • Vanir: I answered the call of Ernie (Keebler), and all I got was this T-shirt.
  • Yax: I’ll come over there and we can pound flesh together.
  • Yax: Oh, wow, I just found a new power under my sheets.
  • Dave: I have bloody Parkinson’s, and I’ll have you not to laugh.
  • Bartoneus: Let’s attacks some bitches with some hoes.
  • Vanir: All my congratulations are in my stomach.
  • Bartoneus: Solar Wrath! – The golden ray of Tequilus bursts from me… or maybe I just had to pee. I mark them all!
  • Dante: “I may be topless at this point.”
  • Dave: You would not believe how many ninjas have tried to put clothes on him.
  • ChattyDM says: If your tables become undead and if they are varnished, they will burn better.
  • Vanir: “Are you a wight supremacist?”
  • Yax to Vanir: “You have a very high sentence to ‘WHAT?’ ratio.”
  • Dante: “Everything in life I learned from watching Yax”
  • Yax: “I want to behead him with my maul.”
  • Chatty: “What’s the armor class to hit puberty?”
  • Vanir: “We call that a critical mistress”

Cheers!

You guys had way to much fun. Are you even sure it was legal to have that kind of fun ๐Ÿ˜‰

Maybe not, but we try to live dangerously.

Let’s just say that after these 2 sessions I no longer gave much credibility to the 4e bashers’ discourse. (As usual, I respect those who tried it and decided to pass it)

We played a 12th level 4e game with incomplete rules knowledge while exhausted/drunk and never opened the PHB.

That is a big, if unsual, selling point for a game system!

I was thinking of going for a game of drunken DnD myself, but I was wondering about something, รด Chatty.

What drink (or how strong a drink) did you guys use for such a game. I guess you’ll have the necessary experience to pace the alcohol level then I would :p

And also, to all other readers, what drink would you use?

Since the drinking rules were a bit more steep than what Dave originally posted about (see my comments in that post) , we stuck with Beers and Mixed drinks (about 4-5% alcohol).

I stayed with American beer, although it gave me quite the headache the next mornings (Canadian Beers don’t do that to me… what’s the difference?)

We also had a ‘I’ve had enough’ rule that allowed to give your sip to someone else for a temporary Bonus or to accept a temporary penalty if no one wants to sip.

Taking one for the team, I love it XD

And american beer tastes like watered down bubbly water! Ah mean c’mon!

    Thanks ^_^

Oh man… The line about the wight had me lol’ing all evening! It’s amazing how witty your players were especially with a few beers in them.

These Bloggers are exceedingly witty people and awesome friends. I was surrounded by masters of the spoken art these two nights!

Lack of sleep and booze made it happen because no one cared about being silly.

Yeah I’m roflmao at you all. The bitches and hoes line was my favorite! I am sad to say I’ve never played – I’ve heard munchkin is a lot of fun as a drinking game. I want to play next year!

Stacy: We were in a garden, had to use what weapons were at hand. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’d like to say that Stupid Ranger’s game on Sunday morning should prove that neither lack of sleep nor booze are responsible for my brand of silliness.

We used to have an “AD&D” night when I was in college. Note that D&D back then was AD&D, but on “AD&D” night, the “A” was for “Alcoholic.” Don’t remember anything about that campaign, strangely enough.

As for American beer, the Tartan Terrors have a line in their intro to “Scotland Depraved” about writing the parody of “Scotland the Brave” after several non-alcoholic drinks, i.e., American Beer.

As for why American beer gives you headaches, Chatty, could be because of an intersection with you being run down and generally dehydrated from the con before drinking. If it always happens, then I’d stay away from our beer (why would you drink any of ours, anyway, given the choice?), as you’re probably not breaking it down well. Not enough EtOH in it? Too many impurities? Don’t know.

And my favorite AD&D drink? Mint Blizzard from Dairy Queen (kinda like a really thick milkshake) with lots of peppermint schnapps.

Oh man, Booze + Ice Cream? Heaven + Quick trip to Porcelain altar!

I must say that Bartoneus brought a case of Landshark beer (it’s a Florida Brewery) that was quite possibly the best beer I’ve had in ages!

I agree that headache was likely dehydration-induced.

Headache was gone after shower and morning tea.
