After this comes the Batman/Battle Pope crossover

Frank Miller, creator of the seminal Dark Knight Returns and who recently got more press thanks to the Sin City movies, was in a lot of the papers due to his next project Holy Terror Batman. The gist is that Batman is going to fight Osama Bin-Laden. Miller originally announced the project after 9-11, but gave a status update at Wondercon recently.

Chamberlin! Stop Your Whining!

After over twenty years, Jim Henson Productions has given the go-ahead to make a sequel to The Dark Crystal. Interestingly, the production will be directed by none other than Genndy Tartakovsky, known for his Cartoon Network work on Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and of course the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated series.

A Venomous Preview

Superherohype has posted the newest preview image from Spiderman 3, which seems like a well concieved attempt to get everyone’s blood rushing.  I certainly hope that it turns out to not be misleading, but the image is definitely not in black and white, which leads to the conclusion that Peter is wearing a black costume for at least part of the third movie, which practically makes me cackle with glee.  The prospect of seeing a live action Venom, no matter who plays Eddie Brock, is the sweetest dessert known to man.

Feast upon it!

Magnatune: They Are Not Evil

I discovered an interesting little site recently called Magnatune. It’s a place where you can buy (legally!) music online. As is typical with these types of sites, you can listen to a streamed version of the music you’re considering buying before actually plunking down any money.

WoW Gone Bad and The Dissapearing Phantom

There’s an interesting Gamasutra article on the lessons WoW is teaching. It’s worth a read, though if you like WoW, you’ll probably hate the article.

In other news… It’s official! The Phantom is dead and Infinium Labs is circling the drain. They’re still desperately clinging to life and are trying to bring their Phantom Lapboard to market, but it’s a pretty much lost cause. Yet, somehow, they still manage to get stupid investors to toss more money into the financial singularity they created around themselves.

Ding dong, the Phantom is Dead!

Lifeblood for the PSP

Sometime last year, an epic battled ravaged gamers everywhere as they heavily debated whether Sony’s PSP or the Nintendo DS would be the handheld to have. Some people got both, some people didn’t get either, but I eventually caved to the PSP’s delicious screen and sumptuous audio aspirations. At this point neither handheld boasted a very large nor exciting repertoire of games to play, and the DS certainly seemed the greater simply based upon the insanely different price tags between the two. Nonetheless, I went out for a PSP and came back with the rhythmic sounds of Lumines and Wipeout Pure in my ears. Both of these games proved simply astounding, in every category, but alas even games such as World of Warcraft can only hold someone’s attention for a fixed amount of time before the real world rears its ugly head back into life. Learn to Love Big Brother

A Cincinnati video surveillance company is requiring its employees to get an impanted RFID tag under their skin if they want to utilize the company’s datacenter. For those who don’t know, RFID tags are tiny, rice-sized microchips which contain specific information which can then be read from a few inches away by a radio transciever.
