Articles by Josh
Josh was never born, he is, was and always will be. He is the solution to the Prime Mover dilemma. He plays video games entirely too much and his opinion to knowledge ratio is out of whack. Meaning, too much opinion, not enough knowledge.
I call it abstract with the influences of a 3 year old
“Here’s this neat drawing tool” give the URL and then say “and here’s what we did with it” – The Game
“Dude, I just want to show off the beholder with a rocket launcher and an axe” – josh
The drawing is a collaborative effort between Sucilaria, joshx0rfz, and lastly Bartoneus. See if you can figure out who drew what! It’s an amazing game.

A link to the actual tool which is very useful in all actuality.
Stoned golem? Or do all golems walk like that….
Ripped off boingboing.net – a brilliant link.
Are video games art?
Just picked this up from slashdot.
I of course think they are.
The debate as well as having artistic and philosophical consequences would also designate whether games would get first amendment protection easily or not.
It is late however and I will edit and post my more in-depth thoughts on the subject when I get to digest the article. Yes, I’m going to print it out and eat it.
I just reviewed the article and it is a bit lame. I will write a better one shortly, stay tuned.
Planetside – Reserves
I played in the Planetside beta but didn’t want to pay for it when it was officially released. I thought it was alot of fun but not worth $15 a month. Recently Sony has released a free version which allows people to play and level their character up to a certain threshhold. If you want to go any farther then you need to register. I think it’s a great idea to try to garner interest in a MMOFPS game. If anyone wants to pick it up and play I’m downloading it as I type this and would be more then open to playing with people I know!
Once I play for a bit I’ll write a review, I’m curious to see how the game has changed from late beta to its present incarnation.
Just a heads up – download on a cable connection takes approximately 5-6 hours.
Wal-Mart – Smiley Face of DOOM (albeit with no violence)
So, I was looking at some site (probably slashdot or boingboing, where I find most of the stuff I find interesting) and ran across this article on Wal-Mart and the influence it has on the gaming industry. It’s pretty well written and I recommend reading it. Here is a brief synopsis – “Big corporation bad!”. It’s bit more complex then that and also gives a fair treatment of the subject. This got me thinking about video games (or any games) as a form of art and the wish to be protected under first amendment rights. If the video game industry is to flourish as a form of art it needs to avoid such heavy handed financial clout. Of course, it costs alot of money to make a video game, but whoever said artists were supposed to be wealthy?
Chuck Norris visits Cyrodiil (Oblivion)
Chuck Norris in Elder Scrolls IV
I know we are a bit inundated with Oblivion stuff, but this is hilarious.
Enter Oblivion
Enter Oblivion and welcome the dearth of posts it brings. Enter not 3rd person, you will realize how foolish and insipid your character looks when he moves! Fear the horse, for it is slow and unwieldy. Enter not 3rd person whilst riding upon thy horse, you will notice again how foolish and insipid your character looks when he moves. Jump not with thy horse, it is foolish.
Keep thyself in first person for they framerate will remain high! Needst thou peerest around yon corner? Prepare to be vexed! Enter 3rd person, but for the briefest moment. Pine for a lean key! Oh ye lean key of sensibility! Why hast thou forsaken me?
Note the lack of original conversation between NPCs! Rejoice in this embrace of reality! For most people have nothing important to say, Oblivion maintains the illusion of reality!
I could go on for a while, but basically it’s a great game with some annoying bits of imperfection. I’d give it a 9. Which on the Stupididotron scale of -90 to +90 is approximately a 72!
Hilarious comic book covers
I don’t really give a damn about comics (I may be fired for saying that) but these are damn funny.
Like Woah
Let me clarify, I don’t give a damn about comic books unless they are made into a half-decent movie.
