The nominees are decided by retailers at the GAMA Trade Show, and then attendees of Origins vote on the winners, and are announced at a ceremony on site (which we’ve covered two years in a row now ). Opinions vary on the validity and choices made by both the nominating parties and the voters themselves, but they still remain the premiere awards that cover the entire adventure game industry, not just one sub-set.
Yea, I didn't get much from looking at it either, but sounds to me like an interesting concept - granting bonuses in game for merchandise out of game.

Very cool, I stand corrected. Is there a link out there for it? The one I found wasn't all that helpful.

(Though whoever does Living Arcanis’s marketing has done a good job).

Thanks! Though it is indeed a gaming accessory with d20 rules right on the shirt. The way it works is, while wearing on the of the Living Arcanis "Cert" Shirts you can use the rules benefit once per adventure. Last years' shirt is a simple option of rerolling an attack roll. Previous years had various other benefits such as increasing the number of HPs you had to be negative in order to die, or rerolling saving throws.
