The one I killed was an exercise in applied overkill that the dm decided couldn't fail to kill the wee beasty. (It involved some artifact level work with a staff of power's final strike ability from the inside of said terrasque. The first "true" Dragon I DMed was a black one (Onyx) in the Dragonlance Chronicles I played when I was 13.
