Darksun would be a profitable campaign setting to bring back. The 4e rules/powers would integrate beautifully with the often unique psionics dragon magic and less common powers of athas. Demographically darksun was discontinued long enouph ago that reviving it close to as was would be fresh to many gamers and the hardcore darksun fans would be hooked aswell. The amount of material published for darksun gives a great foundation yet so much of athas is unexplored that much new material can be created without hurting the continuity. I would buy every book you publish for darksun 4e.

[...] there have been no announcements as to which settings may follow. At GenCon Dave and I attended a panel with most of the D&D developers and almost every single one of them listed Dark Sun as the next setting they’d like to see. [...]

download the adventures i wrote for the D&D Championship from the RPGA. i tried to not only integrate a cinematic feel to (most) of the encounters, but i also tried to illustrate the transition from heroic to paragon tier in the storytelling.

Greywulf: It is an odd omission, which was why the question was asked in the seminar. I did like everything else they said about minions though.

GothamGamemaster: No problem! Lots of good info in there.

Thanks for the excellent write-up. I'm going to print it out and keep it for reference. This is the one seminar I definitely wanted to attend but missed it. Thank you again!

Excellent write-up, and very enlightening.

I'd love to see a 4e Dark Sun campaign book! For that matter, I'd like to see 4e Conan-style setting too. I reckon with the right people at the helm 4e could get the "Epic but low-magic" feel pretty well. Strange to think that. Hmmmmmm.

And I still think they DESPERATELY need to bring out Minion creation rules. All of the other critter types are covered in the DMG but these weren't. An accidental editing cut, perhaps?

sure, they can say "it's an art, not a science" and "take an existing Monster and fudge it" till the cows come home but they're still not there and Brutes, Lurkers and the rest are. Silly omission, that.
