Inquisition of the Week: Musical Tastes
You have spoken that the Warlord is the class you are most looking forward to in fourth edition! If only there was a way for you to get a significant preview of what the Warlord will be like.
The Warlock came in second (either because it’s the other new class, or because it also contains “Warl”) with the Ranger pulling in a tight third thanks to badass archery skillz.
This past week, I bought an iMac, the first Mac that I’ve owned. I will be multiclassing for a long time, since my work computer and laptop are both new PCs, but the iMac will be my primary computer at home. What do I use my home computer primarily for? Music, mostly. As I remarked to Bartoneus on my first day of using the Mac, “My favorite new feature is the remote control.” I have around 30 GBs of music that I’ve been collecting since the heyday of Napster, and I do a lot of flipping. (The unfortunate part of migrating has been the loss of all my painstaking ratings of every track I owned, and the loss of all my playlists.)
So I’ve had music on the brain lately. I’ve also been listening to the Vampire Weekend album on repeat, and grabbing lots of new music that I first heard on my new Sirius satellite radio.
All my musical influences lead me to ask the following question:

Loading ...This is by no means a complete list (so no need to tell me that I “forgot” something) and I have grouped some genres together that have some big differences, but I still hope that is enough to gauge what kind of music listeners you are! Feel free to suggest new music too!

I did not vote for Hard Rock/Metal, Classic Rock, or Jazz because even though I do like quite a few musicians from each genre, more often than not it’s something I don’t like that much. I did vote for Rap/Hip-Hop because lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Kanye West and figured it wouldn’t get that many votes so I should go ahead and include it.
Even though I don’t listen to a large volume of hard rock, my love for select pieces of the oevre lead me to include it in my vote.
Don’t be afraid to profess undying love for Timberlake and Timbaland, folks. This is a safe place.
All but rap/hip-hop, pop and country…although I do occasionally enjoy me some bluegrass…but that may fit into a handful of other categories…
Hmm… most of mine falls under “Other”.
Punk, Ska, Celtic, and Jonathan Coulton (who tends to defy any one genre classification).
JoCo does indeed straddle genres, and who I had in mind when I selected “Other.” Probably closest to Folk, though.
The lack of Punk was an egregious oversight on my part, which I will now correct!
Im all over the place, but the majority of what I listen too is catagorized as EBM/Synthpop/PowerNoize
Anyone outside the know would say I listen to “techno” (God i hate that word), but its far from it.
just a short list: VNV Nation, Suicide Commando, Combichrist, Grendel, [:SITD:], :Wumpscut:… you can search a listen to any of these on ITunes..

That’s why I opted for the more neutral “Electronic” designation.
My music taste range greatly. The only options that I didn’t choose are R&B/Rap and Jazz/Blues.
I enjoy me some good pop now and again. Perhaps even some bubblegum pop.

Where are all the Jazz/Blues votes coming from? Last I checked it was in last place. Now all of a sudden more than half the people are voting for it. Strange.
Something out of the Acid-Jazz or Glitch sections are usually my cup of tea.
