I cast Magic Missile!

There used to be that old animated video on the web about a group of dweebs playing D&D, I just found a ‘new’ version done with Final Fantasy sprites…

Hey that Video plugin does work!

The Chatty DM is the "nom de plume" of gamer geek Philippe-Antoine Menard. He has been DMing various versions of D&D for more than 27 years. A renowned RPG blogger and published author, he now squats a corner of Critical Hits he affectionately calls "Musings of the Chatty DM." (Email Phil or follow him on Twitter.)

Indeed! It works! What have you expected?

It’s been installed for quite some time by my ‘web savvy’ friend and I had somehow failed to learn how it worked.

    Now I know! Great plugin!

I love this video. Every time i run across it i can’t help but sit through the whole thing again.

As you could guess, I’m easily amused. That includes shiny objects.

Wow, dude, can you say “older than the internets?”

FWIW, the skit is by The Dead Alewives, though its frequently misattributed to Monty Python and Kids in the Hall.

  5. Adalore says:

    Aye, very old. :p
    Amusing never the less though.

  6. Yeah, it’s originally an audio skit by the Dead Alewives. It’s been animated in various fashions since then.

    Original.

    There’s even a sequel.

Another good animated version (though they mess up the voices in one part) is Summoner Geeks, a version done by Volition (a game company) using characters from their games Summoner and Red Faction. They included it in the Summoner game, available after the ending credits.

Ahhhh the one I originally saw was the Summoner Geeks.

Yeah older than the Internet indeed…
